My People!! My People!!

For years, many have expressed their disappointment with the system & especially with our current president.....Trust me, I feel you!

So my question is......why do we keep complaining or fussing when we don't vote?  Most people will say, "my vote doesn't matter because the government is gonna do what they want to do."  Well let me tell you a secret.....did you know that decisions are made based on the elected who WE put in office?  Our voice begins locally & if you don't start locally, you will feel like you don't matter.  

I challenge you to be persistent like the ancestors who wanted to vote but couldn't!  The ancestors weren't silent about things that mattered to them because they wanted to see change for themselves and generations to come.  Now-a-days, the people have become so complacent and just go with the flow or jump on bandwagons but when it gets real, they bail out.  Don't get me wrong, this definitely isn't everyone because there are a handful of individuals who stand up and speak out.  #StayWoke

I know ya'll remember that saying, "Closed mouths don't get fed."  As long as we stay hush mouthed about our own people, our ancestors, our spirituality and who we really are.....we won't get anywhere.  Knowledge and wisdom should be shared and passed down from generation to generation so that we can grow out of the mentality that has plagued us.  The school system has a set curriculum so we have to do our own teachings within our community!  Our brothers need to know that they are needed in the homes as leaders instead of in the streets as followers!  Our sisters need to know that they don't have to stay in abusive situations and learn to better love themselves!  And our children need to see us making positive moves because they will pattern every one of our actions!
