Matter of Fact, Who do You Want Telling Your Story?

Hey, Willingboro what's good? I've been noticing around this time of the year racial tensions seems to rise. With so many people claiming to honor Black history but only in the forms of slavery and civil rights. We rarely see/show ourselves before slavery. It's like only partial truths is the only thing we know, simply because we will not search beyond what is said about us as a people. We take what is said to us to be the rule of the thumb, like Black history started at slavery. We know it is not true, but it is all that is remembered and honored. Who told us that our history started at slavery and civil rights? Regardless of the answer it became a choice to only be remembered as a slave.  Yet we complain today about the mainstream media negative portrayal of us as a people and a community

Case in point Willingboro, residences here don't seem to like the way Burlington County Times does its reporting of Willingboro.  One article that really seemed to ruffle the feathers of residences here, is about Willingboro being mentioned in a story with a crime that wasn't committed here. Then there were calls for us to write our own stories. Something Black Willingboro has been trying to do for you. Black Willingboro has offered a stage to become a voice for Willingboro since it's beginning. Everything is in place we just need the community's participation, and realize this is not a competition. When the community participates, we can print papers for our very own community. Everything takes time but also dedication, and we at Black Willingboro by way of Blacklinenews.com are dedicated. Here is where we can shine our light over Burlington County times if we want our stories told truthfully and honestly. As long as we have been trying to do this, take a look at yourselves and listen to your reason as to why you aren't participating. Is it because it wasn't your idea? Is it because you are not at the helm?  What we are failing to realize today is that there are too many great minds for one person to lead, here at Black Willingboro we lead together!
